Ho avuto questo desiderio sin da quando ho desiderata la Compagnia, anzi questo è stato il motivo che mi ha mosso a venire alla religione. 2°. Lo stato di vista apostolica mi sembra tutto conforme al mio natural. 3°. Questo desiderio è stato per me il mezzo più potente a farmi dare alcun passo nella virtù. 4°. Mi pare che se potessi darmi intieramente alla salute delle anime, io mi darei tutto a Dio; altrimento credo che rimarrò sempre né freddo né caldo. 5°. Se io mi tenessi dal domandare le missioni, mi pare che avrei sempre un grande srupolo, e molto mi tribolerebbe in morte. 6°. Ogni volta che ho riflettuto a questo mio desiderio, mi sono inteso sempre più acceso. 7°. La sanità mi assiste; ho una qualche facilità nelle lingue, e a questo studio ho avuto sempre molto genio in riguardo appunto delle missioni.
