&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;1°. Ho avuto questo desiderio sin da quando ho desiderata la Compagnia, anzi questo è stato il motivo che mi ha mosso a venire alla religione.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;2°. Lo stato di vista apostolica mi sembra tutto conforme al mio natural.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;3°. Questo desiderio è stato per me il mezzo più potente a farmi dare alcun passo nella virtù.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;4°. Mi pare che se potessi darmi intieramente alla salute delle anime, io mi darei tutto a Dio; altrimento credo che rimarrò sempre né freddo né caldo.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;5°. Se io mi tenessi dal domandare le missioni, mi pare che avrei sempre un grande srupolo, e molto mi tribolerebbe in morte.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;6°. Ogni volta che ho riflettuto a questo mio desiderio, mi sono inteso sempre più acceso.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;7°. La sanità mi assiste; ho una qualche facilità nelle lingue, e a questo studio ho avuto sempre molto genio in riguardo appunto delle missioni.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;span&gt;Molto reverendo Padre, io mi pongo nelle mani di Vostra Paternità, ella disponga di me quando, come e dove le piacerà. Avessi io tanta virtù da chiudere queste mie line, con le parole con cui chiudeva una simile lettera un mio prozio, il Padre Domenico Bruno della provincia di Napoli. “Padre mio per le viscere di Gesù Cristo, non mettiamo alcun ostacolo alle disposizioni della divina Provvidenza: chi sa se questa mi destina Apostolo di gran tratto di terra? Certo è ch’io spero non mancar mai alle sue ispirazioni, colle quali m’ha sempre abbondantissimamente prevenuto, e tuttavia mi previene, con farmi chiaramente sentire al cuore, che faro col suo ajuto, e per la sua Gloria gran cose”.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
