O quanto mi dispiace di non haver communicato à Vostra Paternità, quando si trovava in Mantova, una nuova, anzi piu antica vocatione di quella, che mi chiamò in questa santissima Compagnia; poicheposso rissolutamente affermare haver preso questa per mezo, e via, che à quell’altra mi conducesse! Questa è la vocatione all’Indie di San Francesco Saverio, eletto da me per principal intercessore doppo la santissima Vergine in questo mio desiderio; et il giorno 12. di Febraro del 1646. con licenza de miei superiori, essendo ancor novitio, feci voto di dare 600. scudi piccioli di Mantova alla Casa di Novellara, il che hò poi esseguito, acciò si rifabrichi il Casino per la ricreatione, et in esso si facci una Capella con l’imaginidella Santissima Vergine e San Francesco Saverio, acciò mi concedino gratia di affaticare, e spargere il sangue ancora in quei luoghi irrigati dal Medesimo San Francesco Saverio.
