Finnora non mi sono ardito di supplicarne la paternità Vostra Molto Reverendissima parte per pensarvi meglio ed esaminare se persistesse l’ispirazione, parte perché credeva la grazia troppo singolare ad ottenersi, ed mi riconsoco indegnissimo di riceverla. Poiché come ben saprà la Paternità Vostra Molto Reverendissima io sono un povero Fratello ignorante, e difettoso e a niente buono. Ciò non ostante durando in me la stessa voce interna, anzi crescendo di giorno in giorno il desiderio di spendermi tutto quando sono e posso in servizio di Dio Nostro Signore e salute delle anime; ed insieme vedendo ì, che a qualche mio Fratello pure è toccata questa bella sorte; sono endrato in isperanza della grazia, e mi son fatto cuore a dimandarla a Vostra Paternità Molto Reverendissimo come ad interprete della divina volontà non altrimenti, che la chieggo da più anni al medesimo Dio, messovi di mezzo Maria Santissima Immacolata. Io non le scrivo alla lunga, per non essere capace.
