<p>Secondo ciò, che Vostra Paternità m’impose vengo con questa a significarle, quello che in questi giorni precedenti la presente Solennità ho internamente sentito circa la dimanda da me fatta a V<em>ostra </em>P<em>aternità </em>della Missione Americana, posto da parte ogni desiderio: E schiettamente le dirò, che circa gli ostacoli già propostimi e del viaggio, della lontananza, della lingua che non ho provata in me difficoltà alcuna; che circa l’assenso del Padre nulla dubito essendo già consacrato tutto alla Compagnia; e che circa al timore, che potrebbe sorgere, ed alcune volte è sorto anche in me, della mia pusillanimità, freddezza, e poco spirito, ho avuto questo particolar sentimento = dovere io come rinascere a nuova vita, e spirito, ottenuta questa grazia, vedendo l’Infinita Misericordia del Signore = del che ho gran fiducia, e desiderio. Da ciò mi sento come spinto di nuovo a ridomandare la grazia, il che faccio di presente a Vostra Paternità, pregandola insieme a volermi racomandare nei S<em>uoi </em>S<em>antissimi</em> S<em>acrifizj</em>, affinché veramente si avveri che io rinasca a nuova vita, e spirito.</p>
