Io domandava in quella le missioni straniere da me desiderate da molti anni, e allo stesso tempo la pregava di farmi avvisato per mezzo del mio Reverendo Padre Provinciale di quanto la Paternita Vostra avrebbe voluto disporre di me. Voglio credere che le infinite occupazioni della Paternita Vostra non le hanno neppur permesso di pensare alla mia domanda. Mi abbia intanto per iscusato se io rinnovo con questa la preghiera già datale per tante altre volte di voler esser annoverato tra’ fortunatissimi Missionari delle nazioni straniere. Io ho già esposto candidamente nella mia ultima quanto io valgo per ogni verso, e credo che anche il Reverendo Padre Provinciale abbia aggiunto le sue informazioni. Sono è vero indegnissimo di ricevere una tal grazia, ma pure non posso fare a meno di domandarle con replicate istanze dalla Paternita Vostra perché lo credo un dovere di giustizia il soddisfare al forte impulso dello Spirito Santo che per sua misericordia mi ha ispirato una tal vocazione per la vita apostolica.
