Padre Claudio Fantini~ Molto Reverendo Padre Sono varii giorni, che andava pensando di scrivere a Vostra Paternità, onde notificarle di nuovo l’ardentissimo desiderio delle Missioni Estere, che Iddio si degna sempre di continuare, anzi di accrescere nel mio cuore, ma avendo udito e la morte di quel nostro Missionario nella Siria, e la lettera di quell’altro, che scrive dall’Indie, mi sono determinato a non più indugiare, ma bensi a subito offrirmi alle disposizioni di Lei, e a ripettere ciò chè altre volte o in scritto, o a voce ho avuto il bene di manifestarle in tal proposito. La circostanza poi dell’anno secolare della Nostra Compagnia anch’essa mi è un stimolo, ed un incitamento a fare di tutto per operare, più chè sia possibile, nella vigna del Signore, e cosi col divino ajuto seguire, ed imitare in qualche modo i Santi primi nostri Padre Zelantissimi per la propagazione dell’onore, e della gloria di Dio.
