Fratello Coadiutore Antonio Tironi~ Molto Reverendo Padre Il timore, e la troppo fondata diffidenza delle mie forze spirituali mi hanno tenuto fino a questo punto incerto e dubbioso intorno ad aprire alla Paternità Vostra un mio desiderio, che da gran tempo mi sta’ sull’animo, ed ogni giorno più mi si aumenta; ma adesso spinto da tanti consigli de’ miei Padri Spirituali, e dal timore di contradire alla ispirazione del Signore non posso a meno di manifestare alla Paternità Vostra questo mio desiderio. Esso è di ottenere dalla Paternità Vostra la grazia di cooperare in qualche modo ancor io nelle Sante Missioni. Padre mio non sono io degno di questa grazia, glielo confesso sinceramente non ne sono degno, anzi ne sono indegnissimo; nondimeno io mi sento in cuore un non sò che di speranza che non sò esprimere. Questa grazia dunque io dimando alla Paternità Vostra per le piaghe del Nostro Signore Gesù Cristo e per l’amore di Maria Santissima e mi confido ne’ loro meriti poterla ottenerla. Al che s’aggiunge l’avermene già la stessa Paternità Vostra fatta concepire qualche speranza quando due anni sono il giorno di Santo Stanislao mi disse alla presenza del Padre Maurizi, che questa’ aria non facea per me, le quali parole mai io ho discacciate dalla mente e dal cuore, anzi mi sono state sempre di conforto e di ajuto.
