I motivi che a tal desiderio mi spingono sono si la brama di approfittarmi degli ammaestramenti del Padre Rossini, da me ben conosciuto quando sette anni addietro fui in Roma a studiar Rettorica, sì il piacere di ribaciare la mano a Vostra Paternità, e riabbracciare i Padri e Fratelli da me allora conosciuti. Qualora a Vostra Paternità piacesse concedermi tal favore, io ne sarei lieto oltre misura; ma se non le aggraderà, io ne sarò egualmente contento, ben persuaso esser questa la volontà del Signore manifestatami per mezzo della Paternità Vostra. L’altra poi non tanto è nuova domanda, quanto rinnovamento di domanda di grazia.
