&lt;p&gt;Sono già alcuni anni ch'io mi sento tutto inspirato a dimandar le Sante Missioni, e perciò dopo aver esposta la cosa a' miei P&lt;em&gt;adri&lt;/em&gt; Spirituali e Superiori, e dopo aver Essi pienamente approvato la mia proposta, m'hanno consigliato a scriver a V&lt;em&gt;ostra &lt;/em&gt;P&lt;em&gt;aternità&lt;/em&gt; come fo ora con la figlial confidenza, animato dalla speranza che ho di trovar grazia, massime in quest'epoca così avventurata che la Cina chiede operai. Mi esibisco pronto a qualunque luogo la P&lt;em&gt;aternità &lt;/em&gt;V&lt;em&gt;ostra &lt;/em&gt;mi voglia mandare, e sono prontissimo a qualsiasi prova mi voglia sommettere. Faccia la P&lt;em&gt;aternità &lt;/em&gt;V&lt;em&gt;ostra &lt;/em&gt;di me ciò che le piace. Perché V&lt;em&gt;ostra &lt;/em&gt;P&lt;em&gt;aternità &lt;/em&gt;sappia destinarmi avverta ch'io, non è più d'un anno, era studente nella Compagnia, e tale era entrato nel Noviziato; ma avendomi fatto vedere ma Madre la Compagnia con tutta carità e prudenza non poterio andar più avanti negli studi per esser un po' avvanzato negli anni, giustissimamente m'avea proposti, con amore veramente materno, questi due partiti da prendere; o di tornar in mia casa, o di restar, se mi fosse a grado, per Coadjutor temprale, ed io prontamente ho eletto quest'ultimo con tutto piacere, giacchè così ha voluto il Signore; e mi sarebbe stato più duro dell'istessa morte se avessi perduta la Comp&lt;em&gt;agni&lt;/em&gt;a a cui son tanto affezionato, ed altro non mi resta a bframare che di poter finir in Essa mia vita:&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Quanto alla mia complessione, son sano e robusto, grazie al Signore; e sono avezzo a qualunque clima sia freddo, osia caldo. Non possiedo è vero alcun mestiere particolare d'arti meccaniche, ma potrei servir di Catechista, se a V&lt;em&gt;ostra &lt;/em&gt;P&lt;em&gt;aternità&lt;/em&gt; fosse in grado. Del resto sia fatta sempre la volontà del Signore, ed in Essa quella de' Superiori, e non mai la mia. Raccomandandomi a' S&lt;em&gt;uoi &lt;/em&gt;S&lt;em&gt;antissimi&lt;/em&gt; S&lt;em&gt;acrifici&lt;/em&gt; con tutto rispetto mi dico,&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
