A l’appelle qu’Elle fait maintenant à tous ses enfans qu’il me soit permis de réponde: me voici, je suis prêt à aller partout ou Elle voudra mi envoyer, comme aussi à rester où je suis pour la plus grande gloire de Dieu. Je dirai encore à Votre Paternité, comme je l’ai déjà dit dans mes précédents lettres, que la penseée d’aller gagner quelques ames à Dieu dans les contrées lointaines, m’occupe depuis long temps, ou piur mieux dire des mon enfacnce. Vers la fin de mes étude je cherchois les moyens de la mettre en exécution lorque je fus tuot à coup inspirer d’entrer dans la Compagnie, et des que le Seignur m’eut fait cette grâce, le désire des missions m’afait que se fortifiér dans mon coeur. J’ai eu l’occasione d’apprendre un peu d’Anglais; je ne l’ai pas laissée échapper, sachant que cette langue est presque indispensable dans les missions. J’ai lieu d’espérer que ma santé pourra se faire avec tous les climats. Pour le pays, je suis absolument indifférent, il suffit qu’il y ait des ames à gagner à Jésus-Christ. Heureux si mes péchés, si ma négligeux dans le service de Dieu ne me render pas indigne d’une si grande faveur.
