&lt;p&gt;Après y avoir réflechi devant le bon Dieu et avoir consulté Mon Père Spirituel, je prends la liberté de demander à Votre Paternité si elle jugerait bon que je partisse cette année au moins pour aller pendant une année […] à Saint Luis les points de mon examen étudier ainsi plus facilement la langue, et me render ensuite à la Mission pour la quelle Votre Paternité a eu la bonté de me destiner.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Je sommet cette demande à Votre Paternitè, avec la plus entière indifférence sur la détermination qui pourra en résulter, bien persuadé que je suis que sa volonté sra celle de Dieu même et que le plus grand bien de mon ame sera tout le motif de sa résolution&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
