<p>L'ardore delle missioni nutrito, fin da quando era nel secolo, v'è in me talmente andato crescendo; che mi anima or ad incommodare la V<em>ostra</em> P<em>aternità</em>, con questa mia. Io sono Fratello Coadjutore novizio ancora di quasi 13 mesi, di patria Maltese, di professione calzolajo. Doveva insieme con mio fratello, F<em>ratello</em> Alessandro [Miteri], portarmi in Roma: ma la venuta in Noto dei 40 convittori maltesi, determinò P<em>adre</em> Ryllo, e P<em>adre</em> Esmonde mandarmi più tosto in Sicilia; ove nel convitto di Noto per quasi 6 mesi fui parte prefetto dei maltesi, parte guardarobbiere. Ora mi trovo in Palermo occupato nell'impiego di calzolajo. V<em>ostra</em> P<em>aternità</em> adunque che spesso secondo i diversi bisogni spedisce ancora de' F<em>ratelli </em>Coadjutori nelle missioni straniere, ci degni quando avrà bisogno servirsi di me. Da parte mia sono disposto andare dovunque, cioè in qualunque parte del mondo ed in qualunque missione anche la più travagliosa: poiché spero coll'ajuto di Dio portare il peso di tutti i travagli.
