&lt;p&gt;Dopo di averla umilmente ossequiata, qual tenero ed amoroso padre, mi fo ardito di ricordare a Vostra Paternità, ciò di che la tenni pregata pochi mesi fa, se non erro allo scadere di Agosto, ovvero per i principî del Settembre del 1844.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;La supplica che chiedi a Vostra Paternità e che ora rinnovo è d'inviarmi nelle missioni. Ah! Padre questo desiderio nel mio cuore si ha fatto sempre sentire. In su le prime niun caso io ne faceva, ma che far io deggio, se gl'impulsi nell'animo vieppiù van crescendo, che non lascian tregua per un solo istante. Perciò vedendomi in tali abbattimenti a Vostra Paternità scrivo questo foglio, e con il cuor sulle labbra, e con calde lagrime imploro fervendissimamente la chiesta grazia di potere andare fra infedeli, e cosi spendere questi pochi avvanzi del viver mio. Non più mi dilungo poi non tediare Vostra Paternità, ma sol le metto sottoa occhio la Signora di tutti Maria S&lt;em&gt;antissi&lt;/em&gt;ma, e mia carissima Madre.
