&lt;p&gt;La Città, grazie a Dio, si chiama edificata e contenta della condotta e dell'operare dei Nostri così in Chiesa e nelle Congregazioni, come nelle Scuole, a cui le vicine ombre danno maggior luce e maggior risalto, massime in punto di pietà e disciplina.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Il P&lt;em&gt;adre &lt;/em&gt;Rettore si è mostrato non meno uomo di talento cogli esterni, quanto coi Nostri Religioso di molto soda virtù e grande zelo per la comune disciplina, che coltiva con tutte le industrie possibili; nè chi volesse impuntargli qualche difetto potrebbe dirlo, che forse un poco troppo corsivo nell'imprendere o maturare qualche cosa.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Fatica incessantemente pei Sacerdoti della Città affidatigli da Monsig&lt;em&gt;nor&lt;/em&gt; Arcivescovo, e per le Congregazioni; nè ha giovato poco a ravvivare l'affetto e la stima per la Compagnia in q&lt;em&gt;ues&lt;/em&gt;ti cittadini, che La credevano oggimai dimentica dei benefizi da loro compartitile in gran numero per lo passato.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Se q&lt;em&gt;ues&lt;/em&gt;to Collegio avesse ancora un operajo di più abile e volenteroso, e Maestri tutti ardenti di spirito e di zelo, la Compagnia potrebbe ricavarne molto vantaggio, e la Gloria di Dio molto incremento: pur tuttavia le cose camminano non senza frutto.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Riguardo allo stato delli affari temporali, ci conviene usare qualche economia per le ristrettezze in cui siamo di presente a motivo dell'incaglio nelle riscossioni, e dei non pochi debiti da soddisfare. Di tutto però abbiamo ottime speranze, perché molto confidiamo nel Signore.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Colgo questa circostanza per ricordare a V&lt;em&gt;ostra Paternità&lt;/em&gt; il desiderio che Le esternai in altre due miei lettere per una qualche Missione, di cui Le fo ora tanto maggiore istanza quanto per l'impiego ingiuntomi di mezzo Superiore non mi ritrovo veramente al caso, sentendomi tutto propenso agli officii umili come di far la Scoletta e simili.&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
&lt;p&gt;Rimettendomi però sempre alla volontà del Signore, mi raccomando intanto ai S&lt;em&gt;uoi&lt;/em&gt; S&lt;em&gt;antissimi&lt;/em&gt; S&lt;em&gt;acrifici&lt;/em&gt; e mi protesto di voler essere fino alla morte&lt;/p&gt;&#13;
